New Haven, Conn. (April 15, 2015) – Cesar Pelli, FAIA, is a featured speaker at the AIA Committee on Architecture for Education Conference, held in Detroit, Michigan from April 15 to April 18. His talk will take place Friday, April 17 at 7:30 pm.
Under the theme “Place of Learning,” Cesar will present his early career with Eero Saarinen, focusing on Morse and Stiles Colleges at Yale University. Spanning the world, he will also highlight current projects from Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects under construction and conclude with the Red Building, the third and last building that completes the landmark Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, CA, for which Cesar designed the first Blue Building in 1975 and the second, Green Building in 1988.
The annual AIA AEC conference attracts practitioners, students, and the public from across the country to learn about critical issues driving the planning and design of educational environments. This year’s event celebrates the rebounding efforts of Detroit, with especial acknowledge to the strength of the many communities that have made its resurgence possible.
