Associate Principal Kristin Hawkins, AIA presents at 2016 COAA-OH Spring Workshop
New Haven, CT (March 11, 2016) – Kristin Hawkins, AIA will join Jack Baumann, RA, LEED AP, Architect and Senior Project Manager of Special Projects, Cleveland State University, John Berkebile, LEED AP, Project Manager, Donley’s, and Michael Carter, AIA, LEED AP, Managing Principal, Stantec Architecture, to discuss the successful collaboration of the design and construction of Center for Innovations in Medical Professions at Cleveland State University. As Associate Principal in Charge, Kristin was responsible for managing the design direction, led by Cesar Pelli, FAIA and Fred Clarke, FAIA, of the 100,000 square feet new building. It was a unique partnership because University and City stakeholders, design team and construction manager communicated often and thoughtfully throughout the process, ensuring that the shared objectives of the project were implemented. The result is a facility that already has, after opening last September, a direct positive impact on regional medical education and care providers.
Sponsored by Construction Owners Association of America (COAA), a national organization of public and private owners who manage facilities development and capital improvement projects. COAA supports Owners' success in the design and construction of buildings and facilities through education, information, and collaboration.
