Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care Wins Healthcare Design Award

New Haven, Connecticut (May 19, 2017) Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects’ Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care received the prestigious Award of Merit from the Healthcare Design Awards. The jury included eighteen architects, designers, builders, regulators, consultants, and providers with expertise in healthcare design. Projects were measured on innovation, collaboration, aesthetics, and operations/functionality. Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects outperformed forty-nine submissions and nine finalists for this award.

The Buerger Center for Advanced Pediatric Care is the first healthcare building of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia’s new South Campus. Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects’ award-winning design of the building creates an inviting, safe environment for young patients and their families. The design echoes a child’s playful nature, found in the winding halls and its colorful, upbeat exterior.
