NEW HAVEN, Conn. (Nov. 9, 2011) — Cesar Pelli was a featured speaker at the recent Bienal Internacional de Arquitectura.

In a lecture that spanned his career, Mr. Pelli spoke about his education and first years in architecture and showed both early and recent work, highlighting examples in Buenos Aires and around the world. Among the works discussed was the Pacific Design Center, whose three buildings in West Hollywood, California, were designed over a period of nearly 40 years. In addition to the lecture, Mr. Pelli was one of a group of international architects invited to exhibit their work.

The biennial festival and conference, now in its 13th year, draws audiences from Argentina and abroad. For three weeks in October, architects, students and architecture enthusiasts converge in Buenos Aires for lectures, exhibitions, workshops and awards. Taking place at the Centro Cultural Recoleta and the Auditorio Buenos Aires, the event is Argentina’s most significant gathering for architecture.
