New Haven, Conn (April 14, 2016) – Cesar Pelli joined Madison Museum of Contemporary Art’s Director Stephen Fleischman in a lively conversation on April 8th in celebration of their collaboration ten years ago. They worked together to design a new home for the museum when the city of Madison, Wisconsin incorporated all the arts venues into the Overture Center for the Arts. Bill Butler, Principal in Charge of the project alongside Cesar also attended the event.

Cesar recalled, “What is most special is that it was conceived with love by Pleasant Rowland and Jerry Frautschi, love for Madison and its people and we, with our associates, designed it also with much love. This love permeates the whole building and confers to it an aura that cannot be achieved in any other way.

I am anxious to visit it again as it is for me like visiting a son, something that will give me much pleasure.”

2016 marks the 115th anniversary of MMoCA's founding in 1901 and the 10th year in its Pelli Clarke Pelli designed facility. The weekend-long celebration included a special MMoCA Nights reception, tours, and family activities.
