McKinney and Olive Wins Innovation Award from Urban Land Institute of North Texas

New Haven, Connecticut (October 10, 2017), The Urban Land Institute (ULI) of North Texas has awarded Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects and Crescent Real Estate LLC with an Innovation Award for McKinney & Olive.  This twenty-story, mixed-use office building in the Uptown neighborhood of Dallas includes a retail podium and a parking structure with an elevated green space. McKinney & Olive responds to the significance of the site, both in the skyline and the pedestrian level, and sets a new standard for workplace design in Texas.

“The fact that ULI recognized both the building’s outstanding design and its strong market acceptance with the 2017 Innovation Award confirms that our efforts were successful,” said Joseph Pitchford of Crescent Real Estate LLC. “Of course, the ultimate test is our customers — and they love the building too.”

Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects Design Principal Gregg Jones said, “It is exciting to see how successful McKinney & Olive has been so warmly embraced by the neighborhood. The design has transformed expectations, reset the bar, and redefined the new standards for Class A office space in Dallas.”

The Urban Land Institute’s Innovation Award recognizes buildings for originality and creativity in design, placemaking, green techniques, and innovative land use.
