Pelli Clark Pelli Architects travel to the new Yale-NUS campus in Singapore

New Haven, CT (October 12, 2015) As part of the opening celebration of the PCPA’s new campus for Yale-NUS, Senior Principal Fred Clarke FAIA, RIBA, JIA and Principal Mariko Masuoka AIA, LEED AP will participate in a public forum, Architecture and the Academy. Designing a Campus for the Liberal Arts at Yale-NUS College. The event takes place October 13, 2015.

Fred and Mariko will present an overview of the design of the campus, highlighting the qualities and characteristics that make Yale-NUS distinctive and how it fits into and reflects the larger traditions of campus design. They will be joined by Forum Architects and Lekker Architects, the two firms also involved in the design of the new campus. Comments by Lily Kong, Provost, Singapore Management University and Jane M. Jacobs, Professor, Yale-NUS College will follow the presentations and Nick R. Smith, Assistant Professor, Yale-NUS College will moderate the questions and answers.

Construction of the new campus commenced in July 2012 and was completed this past summer. Three new residential colleges, Saga, Elm and Cendana, include a dining hall, classrooms, administrative offices, a lecture hall and art studios. A west and east wing accommodate the performing arts, a fitness center, a library, science and IT laboratories, as well as additional classrooms and administrative offices.
