Fred Clarke delivers lecture at Tongji University in Shanghai

New Haven, Conn. (April 16, 2015) – Senior Principal Fred Clarke, FAIA and Principal David Chen, AIA traveled to Shanghai as guests of the College of Architecture and Urban Planning at Tongji University in Shanghai, China. Recognized as an international academic center for architecture, CAUP provides extensive training opportunities for its students, offering a balanced curriculum of architecture, urban planning and landscape architecture.

Introducing Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, David provided an overview of the studio’s recent work and Fred presented the lecture, City Building, A Convergence of Values, that highlighted the remarkable design and construction efforts of the Transbay Transit Center in San Francisco.

PCPA projects in Shanghai include: Baosteel Shanghai Headquarters (2016), Shanghai Huaneng Headquarters Tower (2015), designed after the completion of the firm’s Master Plan of the 2010 Exposition (2012), Shanghai IFC, and IFC Mall (2011). PCPA also designed a new office tower for Baosteel in Guangzhou, China (2016).
