Hancher Wins Theater Technology Award
28 January 2020
Hancher received a 2020 Architecture Merit Award from USITT (United States Institute for Theatre Technology). Located on the University of Iowa campus, Hancher has reemerged as a renowned performing arts institution for dance and theater within the region after a devastating flood destroyed the original building more than a decade ago.
Founded in 1960 to promote learning and research for theater technology, USITT offers the architecture awards program to honor and recognize excellence in the design of theater projects throughout the world. Principal Mitch Hirsch will accept the Merit Award at this year’s USITT Conference in April.
