PC&P awarded the GOLD Award at the CREDAWARD
On July 7, 2024, the 10th CREDAWARD hosted by DJSER announced its winners at Shanghai Qiantan 31 Performing Arts Center. Among many outstanding entries, the Chengdu Natural History Museum (Chengdu University of Technology Museum) received the Gold Award. Additionally, PC&P was also honored with the title of Elite Design Brand that evening.
The CREDAWARD was launched by DJSER in 2014 and invites top academic experts from both within China and abroad, as well as China’s top-tier urban developers with a background in architecture, to form its panel of judges. The award adheres to the evaluation criteria of “architectural aesthetics, environmental priority, user experience, and economic efficiency.” Over the past decade, CREDAWARD has maintained its rigorous selection process, an open and transparent selection mode, and strict award mechanisms, CREDAWARD is widely regarded in the industry as one of “the most credible awards”.
The Chengdu Natural History Museum (The Museum of Chengdu University of Technology) is the most current example of Pelli Clarke & Partners’ commitment to design within the framework of contextual response. The project presents a celebration of Chengdu’s historical legacy and modern ethos, transforming the city’s skyline and symbolizing its energy and innovative spirit. The project successfully synthesizes the historical culture and context of Chengdu as it delves into the soul of the local elements “Shu Mountain, Shu Road, Shu Water”. The project was inspired by four distinct and overlapping typologies: the architectural form derived from the Shu Mountains, the tour experience imitating the Shu Road, the unique selection of stone materials, and the waterfront landscape design derived from the Shu Water.
