Graham Banks and Chunlin He to Speak at the 2026 VU Summit in London
Partner Graham Banks and Chunlin He, Director, Shenzhen, will represent Pelli Clarke & Partners at the 2026 VU Summit in London, October 26–29. Hosted by the Council on Vertical Urbanism, this year’s summit explores “Density and Identity: Shaping Skylines, Elevating Culture,” examining how tall buildings and urban density can support growth while strengthening local identity.
On October 27, Graham will join the project’s client, Hines, to present “South Station Tower and the Transformation of Boston’s Busiest Transportation Hub.” South Station Tower has received an Award of Excellence in the Best Tall Building by Region, Americas category. Graham and the client will deliver a 15-minute presentation to jury members as the project competes for the 2026 Best Tall Building Worldwide award.
Designed by PC&P, South Station Tower rises 51 stories above Boston’s historic transportation hub, bringing offices and residences to a revitalized civic destination. Its faceted glass form complements the station’s 1899 headhouse, while the redevelopment improves connections between rail, bus, and subway services. At its base, the Great Space’s soaring arches and domes create a welcoming, weather-protected concourse while supporting the tower above.
On October 28, Chunlin will present “Rehumanizing the Skyline: Regional Identity in Contemporary Towers” as part of the session “Density and Identity Through Vertical Diversification.” His presentation will explore the role of regional identity in shaping contemporary tower design.
