Two PC&P projects win Pinnacle Awards at the 2023 Natural Stone Institute
The Natural Stone Institute (NSI) awarded both 2100 Pennsylvania and Texas Tower with a 2023 Pinnacle Award of Excellence. The Natural Stone Institute's Pinnacle Awards are given to projects whose beauty, creativity, ingenuity, and craftsmanship exemplify professional mastery in the use of natural stone in commercial and residential applications.
2100 Pennsylvania Avenue
The playful and signature undulations of the building culminate in the public interior, where a sweeping marble stair carries the rich pattern of varied stone textures from the street level lobby up 12 feet into the atrium amenities level. The 2100 Pennsylvania project team incorporated Turkish Dark Olive marble for the grand stair and interior atrium space. The stone fabrication achieved unprecedented levels of quality through a thorough, 100% dry-lay review process, including all dimensional stones and curving slabs of the grand stair. PC&P refined the design to best suit the review and blending process.
Texas Tower
Upon entering, Texas Tower greets visitors with a large 30-foot-by-35-foot long curved, scalloped and edge-lit white marble. The Bianco Macchietta stone was used throughout the lobby which includes the feature wall, the thirty-foot tall columns, a grand staircase and three 30-foot tall main elevator lobbies. The white marble adds an uplifting sense of space to the three-story atrium.
