An urban jewel, 62 Buckingham Gate revitalizes Central London's Victoria neighborhood
Set like a jewel in the heart of London’s thriving Victoria community, 62 Buckingham Gate enhances the architectural character of Victoria and ignites the neighborhood’s renewed vitality. Designed to provide premium forward-looking office space, the building also imaginatively incorporates ground-level retail and dining that opens a welcoming door to Victoria. With its unique boutiques and award-winning restaurants, 62 Buckingham Gate is a destination building with a world of modern amenities.
Looking to the future from a rich architectural history
The design of 62 Buckingham Gate is forward looking, yet sensitive to the historic architecture of Central London. The tilting planes of the façade fragment the tower’s volume to create a more intimate scale that responds to the neighboring buildings. Designed with great sensitivity to its impact at street level, the building touches the ground gently, producing a bright and superior retail environment and welcoming entrance. Simple and elegant glass surfaces reflect light according to the time of day and weather. Like the Edwardian architecture of the area, the cladding is a composition of horizontal banding. Flexible floor plates empower businesses to customize the spaces in unexpected ways. Roof terraces offer views of some of London’s most historic sites, including Buckingham Palace.
Investing in Victoria's future
62 Buckingham Gate’s innovative design includes a number of sustainable features. The facade incorporates high performance solar control glass that delivers high light transmission and minimizes heat gain, while the upper floors incorporate photovoltaic panels and green roof terraces. Indoors, the state-of-the-art ventilation systems deliver 60 percent more single-use clean conditioned air than is recommended for similar workplaces.
