Modern city living looks to the future at 1214 Fifth Avenue

New York, NY, USA

At the north end of Museum Mile, 1214 Fifth Avenue is an elegant presence in the evolving skyline of the Upper East Side. Each light-filled luxury residential unit offers spacious floor plans and inspiring city and park views. The tower’s lower 20 levels are home to Mount Sinai’s state-of-the-art cancer research facilities, medical offices, and mechanical floors. The tower uses 30 percent less water and is 15 percent more energy-efficient than building code requirements, reflecting Mount Sinai’s commitment to a sustainable future.

Three distinctive interlocking forms with upper setbacks define the tower, creating a garden terrace and two levels of penthouse residences.
A contrast to the tower’s opaque base, the residential levels are clad in a highly reflective window wall.
Spanning several floors, faceted cast stone piers with horizontal metal bands add striking texture.
“We shaped dynamic parallelogram facets into the tower’s massing and façade to capture a play of changing light and shadow, animating the skyline along Fifth Avenue and Central Park.”

Park-front residences with a world of distinctive amenities

The tower’s beautiful common areas invite residents and their guests to gather in the lounge with a gas-fired hearth and billiards parlor, or enjoy a film in the screening room. A fully equipped fitness center and lap pool offer daily destinations for health and wellness. From the lobby, a children’s play area is easily accessed. Underground, a private parking garage provides vehicle-charging stations.

The amenity floor includes a lap pool and light-filled fitness center.

A daily experience of ease and understated beauty

Elegant common areas are welcoming and comfortable throughout the tower, with a rich palette of wood, warm-toned metals, and silver travertine lobby floors. The windows, wall panels, and backlit art glass are framed in statuary bronze, evoking connection with iconic sculptures in neighboring museums and Central Park.

The lobby walls are sustainable walnut veneer with curved and faceted panels behind the concierge desk.
The tower’s entrance opens to beautiful garden views and a drive-through courtyard with a convenient drop-off point.
